# Fair Test > Paste a science fair project plan and see it on a trifold display board with each part checked the way a teacher's pre-approval form does: a testable question, an if-then hypothesis, one thing that changes, a measured result, what stays the same, a control, levels and trials, a procedure someone else could repeat, a data plan and safety. The page also flags words that usually need a sign-off before the test starts. A metered check gives every part a status, quote, reason and fix, a fairer hypothesis, the sign-offs, next steps, likely judge questions and a ready / tweak / rethink verdict. https://fair-test.skillsafe.ai/ ## What it does - Free, in the browser (fairkit.js, board.js): reads the plan by its headings (Question, Hypothesis, What I change, What I measure, What stays the same, Control, Levels, Materials, Procedure, Trials, Data, Safety) and counts the facts: levels, trials per setup, total runs, things kept the same, steps, days to the approval date. Checks each of seven parts and gives it a status (looks fair / fix this / missing): demonstration or "why" questions, hypotheses without if-then or because, opinion words ("best", "better"), more than one change, a result with no unit or tool, fewer than three things kept the same, no control, fewer than four steps or no amounts, fewer than three trials, one level, no data plan or summary. Flags sign-off words in seven groups: people as test subjects (surveys, taste tests, heart rate), animals with a backbone, microbes (mold, bacteria, swabs), hazardous chemicals, flame or high heat, mains electricity, sharp tools or launched objects. Its own verdict: ready, tweak or rethink. Builds the blank data table (one row per level, one column per trial, an average column). - Metered, one task `precheck`: a status, an exact quote, a reason and one fix for each part; an if-then-because hypothesis rewrite built only from the plan's own change and measurement ("because [your reason]" when the plan gives none); the sign-offs to get first; three to five next steps; two to four questions a judge may ask; caveats. - The page holds the reply to the plan: a part the page found missing is never accepted as fair, every quote must appear in the plan as written, every sign-off the word list found must be listed, and the rewrite must be if-then and mention what the plan changes. ## Limits - The checks are rules of thumb most fairs share, and the sign-off word list is a reminder, not a fair's rulebook. The teacher and the fair's own rules decide. - Exports: Markdown (board, check, data table) and the blank data table as CSV. ## Sources - Built on the SkillSafe skill @davila7/hypothesis-generation: https://skillsafe.ai/skill/@davila7/hypothesis-generation - API: https://fair-test.skillsafe.ai/api.html
